The great german master of logical thought, gave geography its place in the overall frame-work of orgnised, objectives knowledge(science). It is possible according to Kant,to classify all knowledge gained from
observation in either of two ways:-A classification of things perceived in accordance with some logical system,
a logical classification,or a clasification of things perceived in terms of the time and space where they occur,a
physicalclassification. From the former method a systematic classification of NATURE is gained,as when plants or
animals are placed in a system species and genera regardless of where they occur.Kant regarded physical
geography as the summary of NATURE,the basis NOT only of history but alsoof," all other possible geo-
graphies". Of the latter he enumerates five(1) Mathematical Geography, the measurment of the form, size and
movements of the earth and its places in the solar system.(2) Moral geography -an account of the different
customs and characterstics of Mankind; (3) Political geography -the study of areas according to their govern-
mental organisation.(4)Commercial geography -dealings with trade in surpluss productsof countries and (5)
theological geography of religions. But ,latter this concept of geographical ideas either has changed or further
developed into population ,settement, and modern activities of development of various branch of discoveries
in modern time.
